Full Version: "Want to join" - public party list

Ok, since my last idea to bring players together got shot down sorta, I was thinking about another idea that could be good. There should be a public board in the game where, if you're looking to join a party or wanting to start one, you can post your name on the board and what map you want to party on. I think there's a similar feature in World of Warcraft, but it's more focused on forming raids. The board would need to be active, as in it only shows players who are online (that way you're not looking at dead links), and each post should expire after X amount of time, like a week before it's automatically deleted. Your post would still exist while you're offline, just not show.

Ok, so now that I've got that explained, the table of information for players would probably look something like this:
[Name][Level][Class][Map][Seeking Item]

Where seeking item is a place you can list an item you would like to go after.

From there on out, it would be a matter of whispering eachother.

It sounds nice, but I'm just not sure how useful it would be at our current server size and since people tend to just solo level to 150. Also people don't use the auction house, which is like a listing place too. Unless someone made this system popular, I think people will tend to just set up chat rooms at the side of duo to look for parties rather than using this system you propose.

This would probably be something nice to implement after the other planned things are implemented. @main / @worldchat works a lot better for these types of things I think for the amount of initial work required for it.

the way this would have to work (and i think we could make AH work like this too) is to move it out into the towns themselves. Put an auctionhouse representative next to the kafra, as well as a bulletin board. I noticed the auctionhouse was empty too.

Speaking of auction house, I now remembered something from WoW private servers that could boost usage of such a place. I'm gonna go write another post in the suggestion box.

Oh also, before I forget, Kisuka shot the @worldchat down. He complained about 'advertising' (which in my opinion is preposterous, considering theres probably a #ban command)
