So I was thinkin again... You know the WS skill "Weapon Refine"? It adds a (joblevel/2)% bonus to refining weapons(+35% chance over NPCs at job 120 to be exact). What if, and this would have limitations, we changed the skill to "Equipment Refine" and allowed Whitesmiths to upgrade armors too? Basically, it'd be like this:

Weapon Refine:
Pros-
You don't have to equip the weapon to upgrade it.
(joblevel/2)% chance when your job level is greater than 50.
No NPC fines or menus to navigate.
Cons-
Can't upgrade armor.

Equipment Refine(as I'm suggesting):
Pros(Same as above EXCEPT)-
Refines both weapon AND armor.
Cons-
Only weapons recieve the (joblevel/2)% bonus to upgrading.

This allows WS's to upgrade armor as well, but basically elminates the need to navigate menus or pay the exorbiant fee for each and every upgrade. Also, you don't have to have a class that can equip the armor in order to be able to upgrade, which would mean another source of money for people who have Whitesmiths.

The other option is to create a skill called "Armor Refining" which would be the same as WR, except without the bonus. I don't know exactly what changes would have to be made, but if neccesary, I can get the code required to make this happen ^.^

Tell me what you guys think!

i like the idea

Good concept. I never thought 2k was an exorbitant fee since even if you had one box full of equips, 800 of them, Most of them break going for +7 on average so 14k/amour, 11 mil, which is a pretty reasonable price in my opinion since odds are, you'll get 3 or more +9 equips out of those 800.

more than the cost, switchin chars is really a pain, but saving money is always fine.i approve.

Oh jeez, my bad. The "exorbiant fee" I was thinking of was actually the slotting fee... But anyways, this would still save TONS of time and a fair amount of money. I suppose this may turn into a 'why not?' scenario, but in the end, it's not a bad idea and I don't see any flaws that could lead to abuse o.O

I bumped this cause personally, although I don't have a Whitesmith, I'd like to see this go through as it'd be a nice customization in the positive direction for our server, yes?

man,you wasted on this server.lol.
i like most of ur ideas, and how u dont get discouraged insisting on them...if it'd b me i'd simply change 4 a server tht is more "fair" to the kind of class/playing style i like most, rather than try 2 fix something other (some) ppl dont think its broken.
seriously u must really love slingers annd the ppl here madly bcoz spillin blood sweat n tears 4 the sake of hittin lv200 n then findin ur still owned by noobs...well idk,i'd just b like "w/e feck this shyte,m outta here".
so props and cheers 4 ur fighting spirit.XD

Armor Refining, Although a good idea, sorta really makes defence really easy to get, need I say more..?
Shade
Bad idea for two reasons:
1. Def will be very simple to obtain, even for classes who don't really use it.
2. Special equip effects and cards that require a certain refine lvl will be too easy to get.

@Minnie & Shade
Read what he is proposing a bit more carefully. He's saying to allow armor to be refined by WS, but with no added bonus for success chance. So high level armor still has the same chance of creation. I like this idea because I spend hours by the Refining NPC. With the ability to skip all those messages with the Refining NPC, the time spent upgrading like 150 armor at a time gets reduced a lot. And I have upgraded over 200 armor in one session. That took way too long.

So this doesn't really do anything other than speed up the refining process.

Yea your right. YESSSSSS

Absolutely. There is no good reason why smiths shouldn't be able to work with armor as well!

i agree with the idea
