Ragnarok Legends: The Sword of the Innocent
Chapter One: The Calm Before the Storm
A summer rain, steadily fell upon the busy city of Prontera on an early summer afternoon. The sound of merchants from all across Rune-Midgard and the local residents was a jumbled chorus of bargaining and yelling. Though it was a rainy day, the people of the great city were still roaming on the white stone walkways happily. The people weren’t concerned with the new vendors, neither were the adventurers that were coming in parties and companies. It was something more than great prices or the lack of. It was the annual swordsmen trials that brought folk from across the lands to the city of Prontera.
The swordsmen trials were held in order to find the potential soldiers for the Empire. It consists of two trials, trail of battle or the physical and the knowledge trial. The trials brought talent from all across the lands, from Izulde to Payon .The reward of the trials was the privilege of being accepted into the Knight’s of Valour or the Holy Legion of Prontera.
This day was the day that will prove the courageous and the strong.
* * *
Renakaru Saotome, a young slender youth, walked through the entrance Prontera with soaking garments and wet bluish sliver hair matted to his face by the humid summer air. On his hip, a one sided blade, called a katana by the people of Amatsu, was tied to his belt.
He looked miserable, but the outside only hid determination behind his deep blue eyes . His fair complexion made him seem innocent, but a spirit of a warrior dwells within him.
The Saotome family were the most powerful and well known in Rune-Midgard. Though he wasn’t part of the main branch where Lord Ginta Saotome and his family were placed, he still had pride in his heart to be part of the prestigious family.
I must do this for father, he thought to himself while walking through the busy and rainy city.
Renkaru had to do the swordsmen trials to prove himself and to fulfil a promise he made his father.
He wasn’t doing this for his for himself. He was doing this for his dead father, a respected warrior in the Empire.
“Father, if you are watching…I promise to stay true to my vow,” Renkaru whispered to himself.
He eventually came across the centre of the city, where the trials were talking place. He walked towards the ring where some of the younger entrees were battling it out with wooden swords. He smiled while watched the boy swordsmen parrying and countering. It reminded of him of his past training.
“Cousin Renkaru!” a familiar voice shouted from behind him.
He turned around and scanned the crowed, where he saw a hand wave above the crowd’s heads.
He saw a young acolyte from the church clumsily make her way towards him trying to push her way through the crowd. Renkaru was all too familiar with this cheerful girl. She was Holly Saotome, a junior acolyte of the Prontera Cathedral, and his young cousin. She was around the age of ten and she had a radiance of innocence that brought smile to all who looked upon her. A small umbrella that she held on her shoulder covered her blonde hair that flowed down to her back. She had forest green eyes and beautiful smile that was a masterpiece to behold.
“Cousin Holly! I haven’t seen you in a years time,” he said while smiling warmly at the young girl. “ How have you been this past year?”
“Fine I suppose, training to be priestess is quite hard though.”
“Is Aunt Yuffa teaching you well?”
“Yes, but she’s too strict,” Holly said with a frown.
Renkaru chuckled and said to her, “ Mothers are supposed to be that way.”
Though he didn’t show it, the mention of a mother sadden his heart. His mother died when she gave birth to him and he was the only child of his fathers. His father told him about his mother, but he still felt apart of him was missing.
Holly embraced Renkaru with a soft hug and said, “Well I have to go Ren, you take care and good luck with the trials.”
“ Well cousin, say hello to Uncle Ginta and Aunt Yuffa for me.”
“I will,” she said with a smile.
With that she skipped along to the other priests and acolytes that were preaching and praying spells of safety for the young combatants as they went to the combat ring.
* * *
Renkaru registered for the battle trial and made his way to where the other combatants were waiting. He saw many fighters from all across Rune-Midgard. As he looked upon the crowd he saw the judges that had two elite guard flaking the left of them. They were positioned on a pedestal sitting by a finely made table covered by a canopy to shelter them from the rainfall. On the left was Renkaru’s uncle Ginsu Saotome head trainer of the Holy Legion, on the right was Viktor Delhammer the head trainer for the Knights of Valour and in the middle was the young King of Prontera, Kisuka Ishimatsu, he was seated on a elegant throne in between the two veteran warriors.
Obviously, whomever the king’s prime choice is going to be, they will pass, Renkaru thought as he slipped a small grin at the scene around him.
Most of his competition was young and inexperienced. Though Renkaru was young as well, he was taught martial arts and swordsmanship at the age of seven by his father. He was confident in himself for this trial.
As Renkaru scanned his opponents, he saw a very peculiar person in the midst of the
combatants. This person was fully cloaked and wore a long brown robe. He was larger than most of them. From what he could tell, the man was also older than the rest of them. The cloaked clad swordsman had a trimmed beard and signs of ageing were around his cheekbone.
While his thoughts were on this odd looking man, he heard his name being called.
“Renkaru Saotome! Renkaru please come forth,” the voice of his king proclaimed.
Renkaru quickly came to the judge’s pedestal and kneeled before the respected warriors.
The king called an other as well, “ And Deryth Tarvvel! Come forth.”
“Rise warriors,” Kisuka called to both of them.
When Renkaru rose to his king, he caught the sight of the one besides him. It was the robed stranger.
“ You are to be the first ones to do battle,” he smiled lightly with anticipation. “ You will be both be given blunted blades to avoided any mortal injuries. Please hand over your weapons.”
Renkaru handed over his katana and was given a blunted long sword to the guards. Daryth reached from his cloak and gave the judges a bokan or wooden sword; he also was given the same blunt weapon. This puzzled Renkaru a little that Daryth only wielded a wooden sword, but he still didn’t underestamate his opponent.
“Please take positions,” Ginsu told them.
Renkaru and Daryth both stood at opposite ends of the ring and waited for the signal to start.
He gripped the sword tightly in his right hand and pushed aside his sliver hair that was in front of his his eyes with his left hand.
Daryth stood compelety passive only holding the blade with his hand having loose grip. The air was tense and all was silient in the crowd. The rain started to die out. To Renkaru it seemed that all was becoming calm in the moment before they hit blade apon blade.
In a that moment Ginsu Saotome yelled to warriors, “ Ready… Commence!”
Just as the paladin finished the signal, Daryth flung off his robe and cloak and rushed Renkaru with abnormal human speed.
Daryth hid his true features, rightfully so. He had long unkept black hair and a large scar on his left eye that went down to his neck. His muscles were finely honed as those of a vetran knight and he wore crudely made leather armour.
The young Saotome readied himself in a defensive stance to better read his opponents movements. Before he blinked twice Daryth was right in front of him about to strike. Renkaru parried quickly instinctively and went to counter, but Daryth was recoverd from the parry and spun with a backfist.
The fist hit Renkaru in the jaw hard. He staggered catching himself in a stager. He felt blood trickle come down his lip and slowly fell down his chin.
“ I thought your father would of taught you better,” Daryth sarcastically mused with a grin.
Renkaru locked his bright blue eyes with Daryth’s dark brown eyes with anger and fustration.
He used all of his strength in his body and charged towards his target with as much speed he could muster.
He slashed at Daryth downwards and was blocked quickly. Renkaru tried a combo his father taught him. He faked downward slash, but rather than hitting down he swung the blade around his head and striked from the left. That strike was also blocked with a quick movement. Renkaru went into a flurry of strikes gaining momentum and speed with each strike. His movements were fluid and precise but so were Daryths. Daryth matched each strike with a perfectly placed block. The last strike Renkaru made locked both blades against each other with a loud clang.
“ You do have some skill young Renkaru,” Daryth said in a whisper to him as he pressed the blade. “ I’d rather be fighting you than the rest of these weak excuses for swordsmen.”
“ Im happy to hear that,” Renkaru replied with a grin, “I haven’t fought someone of your calibur of skill in a year or so.”
Daryth gave an odd expression at the young Saotome’s response. Is he holding back someway? Daryth wondered to himself.
A surge of strength energy of power went through Daryth’s blade and pushed him back a foot or so. Hastely Renkaru slammed the bottom of the blade’s handle into Daryth’s face. It hit squarely on the bridge of the nose. Blood ran freely from Daryth’s broken nose, his eyes were filled with tears. In that moment of blindness that hit Daryth, Renkaru made no hesitation to deliver the final blow. Renkaru slashed at Daryth aiming for his chest. But with out warning, Daryth ducked underneath the on coming blade and slammed his knee into Renkaru’s stomach with exceeding speed and power. Renkaru flung back and hit his back on to the stone ring. Renkaru’s vision went blurry and he gasped for breath. He dropped his sword a couple feet from him were he landed. Renkaru rubbed his eyes and looked up to see Daryth standing over him and pointing his blade at Renkaru’s chest.
“ Yield!” Daryth demanded with a scowl.
Renkaru let out a mocking laugh, “ I don’t think so.”
With a sudden movement, Renkaru wrapped his leg over Daryth’s extended right arm and twisted. A sound of bone cracking was heard and a howl of pain came from Renkaru’s opponent.
“Curse you…. Saotome…I will kill you,” Daryth said with hatered as he tried to grab his sword.
“I will not give up, for a simple reason…you were to confident.”
Daryth threw a punch with his left arm towards Renkaru. Renkaru blocked the on coming punch. As he blocked he threw a front kick into Daryth’s chin. The poor warrior flew head over heels and smashed his face onto the ground, but Daryth still relented. Daryth wabbled to his feet in defiance of loosing to such a young swordsmen. He wiped the blood from his face with his arm and looked like he was about expolde with rage.
He did that exactly.
Daryth ran with all of his strength towards Renkaru, yelling and shouting curses. Renkaru also ran towards Daryth, but as he came to Daryth’s fallen blade he scooped it up in his hand with a smooth movement. The moment that Renkaru and Daryth clashed was humiliating and painful. Renkaru sidestepped to the right, a hair’s length before contacting. He knelt on one knee, and hit the back of Daryth’s right leg with the blunted long sword. Daryth flew up in the air as he lossed his balance and Renkaru jammed his left elbow into the stomach of the swordsman so quickly that it was a blur to anyone that looked upon the two warriors. Daryth fell once again on the ground breathless, but this time his sight become blackened and he eventually passed out.
The crowd went silient for a moment as Renkaru wiped the sweat from his fair face and looked upon them grinning sheepishly.
After the silence crowd cheered in astonishment and chanting Renkaru’s name over and over again.
Viktor Delhammer proclaimed, “Ladies and gentlemen of Prontera, I give you the winner, Renkaru Saotome!”
This was the moment of joy, he will finally fufill promises he made.
Chapter Two: Lies…Man’s Best Friend
Viktor Delhammer impatiently tapped his finger on the table in the waiting room were Ginsu Saotome also sat flipping a knife around his fingers. The room in which they sat was King Kisuka’s personal dinning chamber. It was ornately decorated with ancient heirlooms hanging upon the walls and other pricless relics. There was a balcony that looked out onto the city of Prontera from the great castle. Ginsu rose from his seat and mad his way to the balcony and lead on the wooden railing. Viktor followed and let out a rather large sigh, “ Ginsu, do you know why Lord Kisuka has sent for us?”
Ginsu said nothing and looked out on the great City and said nothing.
“Well I have no idea whats going on,” Viktor said while rubbing his baldhead with his hand.
The sound of a door opening in the chamber was heard and both of the warriors made their way back into chamber to see the young King. The king himself was no older than Renkaru, but he was just as wise as any old scholar. He wore royal garments of crimson red and white. His hair was neatly cut brown hair and had fair complexion. Two standard Prontera guard wielding long steel spears accompanied him .
Ginsu and Viktor both bowed in the customary fashion and said in unison, “ Long live the King of Rune-Midgard!”
“ No need for formal introduction,” the young king said with a grin. “ I think we all know who I am, please take a seat gentlemen.”
Kisuka sat at the head of the table and the two proud warriors took seats too the King’s left and right.
“I have called you here concerning the trials and one of the combatants that entered the trials,” the king said with a sigh.”
“Who is the combatant that you speak of?” Viktor asked kisuka and then shifted his eyes on Ginsu. It seemed to him that Ginsu knew more than he let on.
“Its Renkaru…he is not like the rest of us,” the paladin answered with fear in his usually stern voice.
“Well, I knew that he was not a Saotome by birth, but there is something more than that isn’t there?” Viktor asked a worried tone.
As the knight finished his question, there was a sudden magical energy that fluxed through the room in a violet aura.
“What in the Nifilhiem is going on?!” Viktor yelled.
The aura and enery swirled behind Kisuka and a beautiful imgage of a woman appeared. She is a wizard of some kind, Viktor thought to himself as he eyed the spectacle.
She had a beautiful figure and had long blonde hair with streaks of purple dye in her hair.
Her eyes were bright blue that showed wisdom and seriousness of an ancient sage.
“Ah, our this is our fashionably late guest,” Kisuka said as he got up from his chair to greet his new guest. “ This is Zayra Delis a grand mage of the Geffen academy and a good friend of the Empire.”
“I’m sorry about the dramatic entry,” she apologized while bowing to the King. “ But I didn’t have enough time to just walk here. I had a important break through in the situation concerning Renkaru and other things that are deeper involved with the Saotome family.”
“Breakthrough? I don’t have a clue whats even going on!” Viktor said in fustration and confusion.
Ginsu looked at Kisuka for permission and the King nodded in approval.
The paladin turned to the confused knight and said with a deep sigh, “ We couldn’t tell you until you we were sure that you could be trusted.”
Viktor said nothing, but the disgruntle look on his face gave the other three an understanding what the pround Knight was thinking.
“Renkaru is a special person and he has unique abilities that no other person has at his age. He is not fully human. His mother was some form of elf. We are not totally sure of what race of elves, but we are sure she was apart of some dying race.”
“But why does he look more human than elf?” King Kisuka asked.
Zayra stepped forward and replied, “ I can answer that. He is a half-elf it seems that his real father was his adopted father after all.”
Ginsu sat back in his chair and put his had up to his chin and said, “ So Daitsu Saotome is Renkaru’s real father after all?”
“ So it would seem, and that’s not all. The type of elf that Daitsu fell in love with was an angelic race of elf called the zythralia. They posses a great amount of energy and they all have very specific abilities and skills.”
“ That would explain Renkaru’s extraordinary swordsmanship and strength,” Viktor said almost to himself than anyone else.
“Precisely, my good knight. When the zythralia learn certain skills they are tripled in the finesse and precision that they do it in. Its so natural that they don’t even know the differences.”
“By the gods, this is wonderful news! We will have one of the strongest warriors to ever be in the service of the Midgardian Empire.”
Everyone in the room looked grim faced expect the large knight.
The king sighed and looked towards Viktor,“ I’m sorry Viktor, there is something else…that might just ruin that plan.”
“What might that be?” the knight frowned.
“Daryth, the one that Renkaru fought in the first test was sent to kill him, but his plan was obviously foiled by the young Saotome.”
“ Daryth is not the only one that will try to kill Renkaru,” Zayra said.
“ We need to know the group behind these attacks, could you, Viktor, and Ginsu find out more about this group?”
“ Yes my lord,” Zayra said with a bow.
“ Wait till the written exam is done and try to track the where Daryth is making lodge and bring him in for question.”
“It will be done,” Ginsu affirmed.
“Oh, one more thing make sure that Renkaru does not know the truth about his origin, if he does it will be not in our interests.”
Chapter Three: Hate and Mercy
Renkaru walked out of the exam building near the Prontera church, it was a sunny afternoon and the wind was brisk enough to keep the warmth off his fair face. It was a day after the combat trials and many thoughts went through the mind of the young warrior.
He walked steadily towards the street where the Inn he stayed the night before was. He walked down the street not being aware of those around him. Even exotic dancers winked at him and blew kisses towards him, but still he didn’t notice.
As he came close towards the Inn door he heard his name being called behind him.
“ Ren! Hey Renkaru!” it the voice of his good friend Andy Delstale. “Long time no see pal!”
Andy was part of the a renowned merchant family that had business all across Rune-Midgard. He was a tall man and was in his late twenties. He had shoulder length black hair . His wife was also with him , the beautiful Lynn Destale . She was dressed in a simple red dress and her black hair neatly tied back.
“ Greetings Andy and Lynn, its always a pleasure to see old friends of my father,” Renkaru said as he shook the hand of Andy.
“We just wanted to congratulate you on the victory and a splendid victory at that!”
“It was very well done young Renkaru,” Lynn said with a smile.”
“I thank you both, I just wish my father and mother were here to congratulate me as well,” Renkaru said softly.
Lynn put his hand on Renkaru’s shoulder and said caringly , “ Your parents are looking from Valhalla with smiles on their faces, I assure you my friend.”
Renkaru said nothing for while, thinking on those words that Lynn said to him.
After a couple of seconds later Andy said, “ Well need to go Ren, I’ll see you later. Before you leave come by my place and I’ll give you something as a parting gift.”
“ Farewell Andy and Lynn,” Renkaru said as his two friends as they walked away to another street.
Just as Andy turned around the corner he shouted to Renkaru, “Cheer up! Find yourself a girl, it’ll make you smile a little more!”
Renkaru blushed and his clear white skin went cherry red. The dancers and some other young woman giggled at the sight of the Saotome warrior blushing.
Renkaru chuckled nervously and waved to Andy.
* * *
After Andy and his wife were out of sight he entered the Inn and walked into the pub.
There was many muscular men playing card games and drinking ale heavily. Many of the men patted Renkaru on the back saying things like “ Your almost as strong as me!” and other jokes that were all in good sport. Renkaru laughed at jokes as he passed the half drunk men and made his way for the bar counter.
“ What can get ye, my fine fellow?” a rather husky bartender asked Renkaru with a big smile.
“Just water will be fine,” Renkaru said politely.
As the bartender was pouring the water into a beer mug, an familiar voice was heard a hair away from Renkaru.
“ Well isn’t this a splendid surprise!” the voice said sarcastically.
“Daryth,” Renkaru whispered to himself.
Renkaru turned around to see Daryth and three other men all with long swords on their hips.
“Like I said in the trial…I will kill you, its my job after all,” Darth said with a grin. “You wont even know the reason why your being killed.”
“Your job? I though you were some loser that couldn’t get into either of the Knights or Paladin regiments,” Renkaru said almost jokingly.
Daryth frowned and said to his men, “ Kill him quickly he is just a child .”
Renkaru smiled and said, “ A child that broke your arm and humiliated you in front of many people.”
The three men looked at each with some doubt and looked back at Daryth’s arm in a sling.
“We are playing with grown up weapons now, blades that can kill. We have the upper hand.”
Renkaru looked at his side and realized that Daryth was correct. He left his katana in the Inn room before going to the written exam.
Two of mercenaries flanked Renkaru on the right and left of him and the other stood in front of Renkaru to prevent escape.
The whole place went silent and some men rose up in defence of their young friend.
“Don’t make us kill all of you!” Daryth yelled at the people drawing weapons.
“Don’t worry my friends,” Renkaru said unnaturally calm, “I can take care of these fools.
The man on the left flank charged and slashed downwards at Renkaru. The young swordsman dodged the sword easily. He stepped to side and grabbed a simple butter knife that a older man was using to butter his meal. With out the old man knowing Renkaru quickly snatched the knife and stabbed the blade into the unfortunate mercenary’s eye. The man screamed in agony and dropped his sword to ground to put his hand over his wound.
Renkaru scooped up the fallen long sword and charged at the one on his right. The mercenary blocked the first attack, but Renkaru knelt down and cut off the leg of his attacker at the ankle. The mercenary howled in pain and toppled to the floor as blood poured freely from his leg.
The last mercenary ran off in fear yelling, “Demon child!” over and over again in the city streets.
Daryth in his consuming rage raised his own blade and rushed towards Renkaru. The young Saotome stood perfectly calm as his attacker came headlong towards him. He simply side stepped out of the way of the blade and kneed Daryth in the groin. Everyone in the pub laughed and jeered at the once gain, humiliated Daryth. Daryth knelt to the floor in pain and looked at Renkaru with all of the hatred that he could muster.
Renkaru looked Daryth in the eyes and said, “ Do not try this again or worse fate will fall upon you and your lap dogs.”
With that Renkaru slammed the end of the sword’s handle into Daryth’s face. The humiliated mercenary went out cold for the second time.
Chapter Four: The Night’s Agenda
Late in the night, the patrons of the Inn’s pub were laughing, drinking ale and praising the young Saotome of his extraordinary feat of defeating four men in less than a minute. Some of the patrons wanted to finish off the two mercenaries, but Renkaru insisted on them to be sent to a priest for healing. They agreed to Renkaru’s suggestion with complaints, but they knew that it was the right thing to do.
The bartender walked up too Renkaru with a large smile and said, “ Good thing today was garbage day, cause ye took out the trash with them mercs!”
Renkaru chuckled at the slightly bad pun and said in return, “ I’m just glad that I didn’t kill them.”
“Yeah…you’re a good kid,” the large man said with a grin. “Well I gotta close down the pub so the people sleep’n in the Inn can actually sleep!”
“Okay friend, good night to you,” Renkaru said.
* * *
After he said good night to his newly made friends, he made his way to the room that he had stayed in the night before. He came up to the door and unlocked it with a iron key and entered his room with a sigh of relief. Renkaru put his pack down on the bed and stretched his arms and yawned.
“ I need a warm shower,” he sighed to himself.
He entered the bathroom and entered the shower after unclothing himself.
The water felt refreshing, like all of his burdens were being washed away, but he knew it was just a feeling. When he was told that he was in the same crusader regiment that his father was in he was very glad, but he knew with being crusader he will be faced with tough challenges.
After a hour he came out and dried himself off with a towel that was that he brought with. He put the towel around his waist and opened the bathroom door.
What he saw surprised him, on a small table by the window laid a black rose casting its shadow along the floor. Renkaru walked to the rose and notice that the window was opened.
The cool night breeze blew through his long sliver hair and the moon’s light shone on his face making a pale light in his room. He looked out the window and the streets were peaceful expect for a couple of late night drunkards that were fumbling their way home. He closed the window and sighed.
“ This is one strange evening,” the young Saotome said to the pale darkness.
“ Indeed it is,” a voice of a young lady was heard behind him.
Renkaru quickly spun around to see nothing.
“Are you here to kill me?”
“That depends on you my little Renny,” the invisible female giggled. “I’ve seen what you can do, but you haven’t seen what I can do.”
Renkaru eyed his katana beside the bed.
“ If you go for that sword, you’ll die where you stand….and we wouldn’t want that,” the mysterious voice teased.
“Tell me what you want from me, or I wont hesitate to do what‘s necessary .”
The mysterious appeared out of thin air beside the half-naked Renkaru with a curved dagger close to his throat.
“I like a man with that knows what he wants, but I will be making the requests today .”
He slowly turned and raised his hands signifying his surrender. He finally had a look at his harasser and intruder.
She was a little shorter than him and looked to be as young as seventeen years old. She had blonde hair that rested on her shoulder. She was clad in tight leather assassin garments with multiple straps and throwing daggers that were fastened to her left leg.
As Renkaru looked into her eyes he could tell she was still innocent ,but she had a deadly aura that he could feel. She was a killer and he did not want to underestimate her abilities.
“The one I work for needs your special features…almost as much as I do,” she said in a playful tone.
She came slowly closer and quickly pulled a dart of some sort and tried to jab Renkaru. He tried to dodge and evade the dart but the tip hit his upper shoulder.
Almost within seconds the effect of the dart was taking over Renkaru. Renkaru staggered and almost fell to the wooden floor, but caught a punch in the face by his attacker before he could fall. The blow sent him on his back and the assassin jumped on him and sat on his chest.
“Your not so tough,” she giggled playfully and ruffled Renkaru‘s hair. “Your fairly quick my little Renny boy, but not quick enough.”
Renkaru’s vision was becoming blurry and his eyes were heavy, he was about to faint.
“I’m just going to speed up the progress of the toxin,” she said while taking out another dart.
Just as she reached for the dart Renkaru came to most of senses and rapped his legs around the assassin’s waste.
“I got you this time,” Renkaru said with a grinned.
He twisted quickly and hard before his attacker could react. She toppled over and slammed into the wall.
The young swordsman rolled over the bed and grabbed his katana that was rested against the wall.
He unsheathed the blade and readied himself in an offensive stance.
“Who are you?!” Renkaru demanded as he tried to keep his mind his focused.
The young woman rose to her feet and said, “ I guess its rude of me not to introduce myself, seeing that I intruded your room. I am Mizuru Taikishi, the mistress of the beautiful night.”
“I’m truthfully sorry that we had to meet under these circumstances, but through battle we will know more about each other,” he said with a grim tone.
“What does that---,” she was cut off by Renkaru rushing her with katana in hand.
Her hidden katar flipped open from her right bracer and blocked the downward strike.
Renkaru spun to Mizuru’s left flank and slammed the hilt in her side. She retreated a couple of feet from Renkaru and growled in anger. She came in for the counter-attack, she was very agile and vicious. The katar made a flurry of strikes at Renkaru and he started to parry the blows. He dodged the sharp blade and the katar cut clean through the wall where he was standing a moment before. He quickly swept his foot at the back of the Mizuru’s leg. She lost balance and fell on her behind. Renkaru wasted no time putting the tip of the katana at Mizuru’s neck.
“Yield and I wont have to finish what you started,” he said with a heavy breathe.
“Fine, I’ll leave my little Renny, but I am not the only one that lost something,” she said with a wink and pointed downwards.
He looked to see that his towel was not around his waist anymore. Renkaru blushed and his cheeks went deep red. He quickly cover himself with his hand and looked to see that his assassin fled out the window laughing gleefully. He raced to the window and seen Mizuru wave and blew a kiss to Renkaru.
“ I hope to see more of you Renkaru,” she said with a soft laugh. Mizuru disappeared and the night was calm once again.
Renkaru walked almost in a stupor to his bed and crumpled on the bed. The toxin gradually took full effect in his blood stream and he was dragged into a deep sleep.
