Yeah that is the most appealing to me as well. That said I like the plot outline of Shi Ki.

So I noticed a little something while watching the first episode of High school of the Dead

Shi Ki looked alright too. Seemed more interesting that an anime would take a story more along the lines of a haunted house.

I think it is going in the direction of Higurashi in terms of psychotic thriller with a little paranormal tossed in. I haven't read the manga but I might after the series is over.
